Nederlands Exposition in Auschwitz Jew in the Netherlands

Jewish Communities

The postcards provide an impression of Jewish life in the Netherlands before the war. These are scenes of towns and villages, showing churches, synagogues, Jewish institutions and stores, in streets where Jews were once part of the scenery. There were neighbourhoods in towns and villages where a majority of the population was Jewish. Overall, Jews and non-Jews did not live together, but rather alongside each other. There was never full integration.
